Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SQIN-furosemide is a novel, pH-neutral formulation of furosemide specifically designed for subcutaneous administration. It has a higher concentration (30 mg/mL) than standard furosemide injection and is formulated to be less irritating to the skin. This formulation is intended to be used with a patch-pump device called SQIN-Infusor for the treatment of fluid retention (edema) in patients with heart failure or chronic kidney disease. SQIN-furosemide has similar bioavailability to intravenous furosemide and can be stored at room temperature for 24 months.
