Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SQZ TILs is an experimental cell therapy platform developed by SQZ Biotechnologies for the treatment of solid tumors. The therapy utilizes the company's proprietary Cell Squeeze technology to engineer tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) with mRNA encoding membrane-bound cytokines, specifically interleukin-2 (mbIL-2) and interleukin-12 (mbIL-12). This approach is designed to enhance the potency, proliferation, and persistence of the TILs within the tumor microenvironment while eliminating the need for the toxic lymphodepleting preconditioning and high-dose systemic IL-2 administration typically required for conventional TIL therapies. Preclinical studies have also explored the addition of membrane-bound IL-7 and BCL-2 to further improve engraftment and survival.
