SR1264 is a novel tetrafluoro analog of curcumin developed as a potential therapeutic agent for pancreatic cancer. It functions primarily by suppressing the Notch signaling pathway, which is frequently dysregulated in pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that SR1264 inhibits cell proliferation, induces G2/M cell cycle arrest, and promotes apoptosis in various pancreatic cancer cell lines. In vivo, the compound has shown significant efficacy in reducing tumor volume and weight in mouse xenograft models, accompanied by a decrease in microvessel density and the downregulation of key proteins such as Notch-1, COX-2, and VEGF. The drug was developed through a collaboration involving The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and Swaasth Inc.
