SR1375

SR1375 is an orally administered small molecule drug under development by Shanghai SIMR Biotech for the treatment of several inflammatory and vascular diseases. Its primary indications include diabetic macular edema, diabetic retinopathy, community-acquired pneumonia, hospital-acquired pneumonia, COVID-19 pneumonia, Alzheimer's disease, diabetic kidney disease, and acute inflammation. Unlike anti-VEGF therapies that require intravitreal injection for retinal diseases, SR1375 offers oral administration as a more convenient alternative. Preclinical studies have shown efficacy comparable to anti-VEGF agents in animal models of diabetic retinopathy. The drug is currently in phase 2 clinical trials for community-acquired and hospital-acquired pneumonia.
