Overview

**src siRNA** is a small interfering RNA specifically designed to target and silence the expression of the Src gene, which encodes a non-receptor protein tyrosine kinase involved in regulating cell proliferation, survival, adhesion, migration, and oncogenic processes, particularly in various cancers. The mechanism of src siRNA involves incorporation into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), guiding it to complementary Src mRNA, which is then cleaved and degraded, resulting in reduced protein translation. Experimental data show that src siRNA can reduce Src protein levels by approximately 50–70% in cell models, leading to inhibited cell growth, induction of apoptosis, reduced tumorigenicity, and sensitization to chemotherapeutic agents, especially in triple-negative breast cancer and other malignancies with elevated Src activity[4][5][6].
