Overview
SRG-514 is an experimental small molecule drug being developed by Surge Therapeutics for the prevention of recurrence after breast-conserving cancer surgery in patients with breast carcinoma or ductal carcinoma in situ. The drug is administered intraoperatively as a biodegradable gel placed directly into the surgical site following tumor resection. Its intended purpose is to reduce post-surgical inflammation, promote healing, and prevent tumor recurrence. As of April 2025, SRG-514 is in Phase 1 clinical trials and has not yet been approved for any indication[1][2][3][4][5]. The precise mechanism of action has not been disclosed[7]. It is delivered via a proprietary hydrogel platform designed to provide localized, prolonged release at the surgical site[1][6].
