SRP-1002 (formerly known as ARO-MMP7) is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic designed to reduce the expression of matrix metalloproteinase 7 (MMP7). It is being developed primarily for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). The drug utilizes RNA interference to inhibit MMP7 expression in pulmonary epithelial cells, aiming to address fibrotic processes in the lung.
