Overview

SRP-1002 (formerly known as ARO-MMP7) is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic designed to reduce the expression of matrix metalloproteinase 7 (MMP7). It is being developed primarily for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). The drug utilizes RNA interference to inhibit MMP7 expression in pulmonary epithelial cells, aiming to address fibrotic processes in the lung. Originally developed by Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, SRP-1002 has been licensed globally to Sarepta Therapeutics for further clinical development[1][3].
