SRSD107 is a novel, synthetic, chemically modified double-stranded small interfering ribonucleic acid (siRNA) therapy developed by Sirius Therapeutics. It specifically targets human coagulation factor XI (FXI) mRNA, inhibiting FXI protein expression and thereby blocking the intrinsic coagulation pathway. This mechanism promotes anticoagulant and anti-thrombotic effects with the aim of reducing thrombosis risk without significantly increasing bleeding risk. Preclinical studies demonstrated near-complete reduction of FXI levels for up to six months after a single subcutaneous dose, with no observed bleeding events. The drug is being developed for once or twice-a-year dosing to improve patient compliance in chronic anticoagulation settings. Phase 1 clinical trials have shown that SRSD107 is safe and well-tolerated in healthy subjects, with durable pharmacodynamic effects lasting over 16 weeks after dosing[1][2][3][5][6][7][8].
