SRT2379 is a selective small-molecule activator of the NAD+-dependent deacetylase, sirtuin 1 (SIRT1). It was developed as a novel anti-inflammatory agent with potential applications in metabolic and inflammatory diseases. Preclinical studies demonstrated that SRT2379 could inhibit systemic inflammation induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in animal models. The drug was primarily investigated for its effects on endotoxin-induced inflammation and for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and sepsis. Clinical development reached phase 1 trials, but there are no approved indications or ongoing advanced clinical programs[2][3][5][6].
