Overview

SSGJ-611 is a recombinant humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody targeting interleukin‑4 receptor alpha (IL‑4Rα), developed as an anti‑inflammatory biologic for immune‑mediated diseases such as atopic dermatitis, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. By binding IL‑4Rα, it blocks signaling of both IL‑4 and IL‑13, key type 2 cytokines that drive Th2‑mediated inflammation, IgE production, and chemokine expression, thereby reducing type 2 inflammatory responses in skin and airway tissues.[1][8][12][3] The antibody is being developed by Sunshine Guojian Pharmaceutical (a subsidiary of 3SBio) and has progressed to phase 3 clinical trials in China and the US, where it has demonstrated improvements in eczema severity indices and biomarkers such as thymus activation‑regulated chemokine (TARC) and serum IgE with a safety profile characterized mainly by mild upper respiratory tract infections.[1][3][4]
