SSH3 siRNA is a gene-silencing tool designed to specifically target and reduce the expression of the Protein phosphatase Slingshot homolog 3 (SSH3). SSH3 is a member of the Slingshot family of phosphatases that play a critical role in regulating actin dynamics by dephosphorylating and activating cofilin. In various oncological contexts, including gastric and prostate cancers, SSH3 is often overexpressed and associated with increased cell migration, invasion, and metastasis. By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, SSH3 siRNA facilitates the degradation of SSH3 mRNA, thereby inhibiting the downstream activation of cofilin and potentially suppressing the invasive phenotype of malignant cells. While currently utilized primarily as a research reagent to elucidate the biological functions of SSH3 in the actin cytoskeleton, it represents a potential therapeutic strategy for targeting actin-mediated motility in cancer.
