SSO-0205 is a preclinical splice-switching antisense oligonucleotide (SSO) developed by Envisagenics using its AI/ML-driven SpliceCore platform. It is designed to target and promote the inclusion of exon 13 in the neural precursor cell expressed developmentally down-regulated 4-like (NEDD4L) pre-mRNA (NEDD4Le13). In triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), aberrant skipping of NEDD4L exon 13 is highly prevalent and correlates with poor overall survival. By promoting exon 13 inclusion, SSO-0205 restores the full-length NEDD4L isoform, which downregulates the TGFβ signaling pathway. This leads to decreased cell proliferation, cell cycle arrest in the G1 phase, and a significant reduction in TNBC cell migration and viability.
