Overview

SSS-17 is an oral small molecule drug that acts as an inhibitor of hypoxia-inducible factor prolyl hydroxylase (HIF-PH). By inhibiting this enzyme, SSS-17 stabilizes hypoxia-inducible factors (HIFs), which can stimulate erythropoiesis and improve anemia. The drug is being developed primarily for the treatment of anemia associated with chronic kidney disease and nephrosis. Its highest reported development phase is Phase 2 clinical trials[2][3].
