Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SSS06 is a long-acting, PEGylated recombinant human thrombopoietin (rhTPO) developed by 3S Bio. It is designed to address the limitations of first-generation rhTPO, such as the need for frequent administration, by utilizing PEGylation technology to extend the protein's circulating half-life. SSS06 acts as an agonist of the thrombopoietin receptor (MPL), mimicking the action of endogenous thrombopoietin to stimulate the growth and maturation of megakaryocytes, thereby increasing platelet production. The drug is primarily being developed for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced thrombocytopenia (CIT), a common complication of cancer treatment that can lead to dose reductions or delays in chemotherapy. By maintaining higher platelet counts, SSS06 aims to improve the safety and efficacy of myelosuppressive oncological regimens.
