Overview

SST001 is a novel positron emission tomography (PET) imaging tracer developed by Synusight Biotech (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. It is designed to selectively bind to alpha-synuclein (α-syn) aggregates in the brain, which are characteristic pathological features of synucleinopathies such as Parkinson's disease (PD) and multiple system atrophy (MSA). By enabling the visualization and quantification of α-syn deposits in vivo, SST001 aims to serve as a diagnostic tool for early detection, differential diagnosis, and monitoring of disease progression or therapeutic efficacy in clinical trials for neurodegenerative disorders. The tracer is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials to assess its safety, biodistribution, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers and patients with PD or MSA.
