ST-004

ST-004 is an investigational, preclinical-stage combination therapy being developed by SonoTarg for the treatment of colorectal cancer. The therapeutic approach combines SonoTarg's proprietary ultrasound-responsive microbubble platform, which delivers sonodynamic therapy (utilizing a sonosensitiser such as Rose Bengal), with the FOLFIRINOX chemotherapy regimen (comprising folinic acid, fluorouracil, irinotecan, and oxaliplatin). Upon intravenous administration, targeted ultrasound is applied to the tumor site, causing the microbubbles to burst and release their therapeutic payload. This acoustic activation generates mechanical and chemical forces that drive the chemotherapeutic agents deep into the tumor tissue while simultaneously inducing a localized cytotoxic effect through sonodynamic therapy, thereby enhancing efficacy and reducing systemic toxicity.
