Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ST-01 is a sustained-release injectable formulation of lidocaine developed by Sustained Therapeutics. It utilizes a proprietary polymer-based delivery system to provide prolonged local anesthesia and pain relief over several weeks, addressing the limitations of standard lidocaine which has a short duration of action. The drug is primarily being investigated for the management of chronic scrotal content pain (CSCP) via spermatic cord block and for postoperative pain management following pelvic, perineal, or perianal surgeries. By forming a depot at the site of injection, ST-01 allows for the slow release of lidocaine, potentially reducing the need for repeat injections or systemic opioids.
