ST-101 is a code name associated with several distinct therapeutic candidates across different modalities and indications. The most clinically advanced is a first-in-class peptide antagonist developed by **Sapience Therapeutics** that targets the transcription factor **C/EBPβ** (CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein beta). This peptide is designed to disrupt the dimerization of C/EBPβ, which is overexpressed in many cancers and promotes tumor survival and immune evasion; it is currently in Phase 2 trials for recurrent glioblastoma and other solid tumors. Additionally, **Garuda Therapeutics** (rebranded as **Stratus Therapeutics**) uses the name ST-101 for an off-the-shelf, self-renewing hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) therapy intended for transfusion-dependent beta-thalassemia and bone marrow failure syndromes. A third ST-101 refers to a zinc finger protein (ZFP) epigenetic regulator developed by **Sangamo Therapeutics** in collaboration with **Biogen** for neurological indications. Historically, the designation was also used for a cognitive enhancer (a derivative of zetidoline) developed by **Suntory**.
