Overview

ST442 (also known as ST-442 mAb) is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody developed by Stromatis Pharma that targets secreted frizzled-related protein 2 (SFRP2). Functioning as an SFRP2 antagonist, the drug is designed to revert activated stromal stellate cells back to their quiescent state. These stellate cells are known to promote inflammation and fibrosis, creating a tumor-protective microenvironment that can shield cancer cells from chemotherapy and immunotherapy. By disrupting this fibrotic process, ST442 aims to make tumors more accessible to other therapeutic interventions. It is currently being investigated for the treatment of various cancers, with a primary focus on pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), as well as fibrotic diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis and liver cirrhosis.
