STAb-T19 is an investigational T-cell redirecting cellular immunotherapy developed by STAB Therapeutics for the treatment of B-cell hematological malignancies, including B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) and B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL). Unlike traditional CAR-T cell therapies that utilize surface-bound chimeric antigen receptors, STAb-T19 consists of T cells engineered to secrete bispecific T-cell engager (TCE) antibodies targeting CD19 and CD3. This approach allows the engineered cells to not only target CD19-positive B cells directly but also to recruit and activate endogenous bystander T cells via the secreted antibodies. Preclinical studies indicate that STAb-T19 may offer improved efficacy and reduced relapse rates compared to conventional CAR-T19 therapies by preventing antigen downmodulation and enhancing cytotoxicity through the recruitment of the host's immune system.
