Overview

Stahist T is an over-the-counter (OTC) antihistamine containing triprolidine hydrochloride, a first-generation histamine H1 receptor antagonist. Developed and marketed by Magna Pharmaceuticals, it is indicated for the temporary relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (hay fever), the common cold, and other upper respiratory allergies, such as runny nose, sneezing, and itchy/watery eyes. As a small molecule drug, triprolidine works by competitively blocking H1 receptors, thereby inhibiting the effects of histamine on capillaries, bronchial muscle, and gastrointestinal smooth muscle. It is often recommended for use at bedtime due to its potential for drowsiness and its ability to dry secretions. The tablets are scored to allow for customized half-tablet dosing.
