STALORAL Birke

STALORAL Birke is a sublingual allergen immunotherapy (AIT) product developed by Stallergenes Greer. The active ingredient is a standardized birch pollen allergen extract (Betula pendula), available in concentrations of 10 IR/ml and 300 IR/ml. It is a biologic therapy administered as a sublingual solution, which desensitizes the immune system to birch pollen allergens. STALORAL Birke is indicated for the causal treatment of allergic rhinoconjunctivitis induced by birch pollen in patients with a confirmed Type 1 allergy. It may also be used for patients who have mild to moderate asthma associated with their allergic rhinoconjunctivitis. A Phase III study (YOBI) demonstrated significant efficacy in pediatric patients. The treatment course typically lasts 3 to 5 years.
