Standard-dose quadrivalent influenza vaccine (QIV-SD) refers to a class of seasonal vaccines designed to provide protection against four distinct influenza virus strains: two influenza A subtypes (typically H1N1 and H3N2) and two influenza B lineages (Victoria and Yamagata). The "standard-dose" terminology distinguishes these products from high-dose or adjuvanted formulations, as they typically contain 15 micrograms of hemagglutinin (HA) per strain, totaling 60 micrograms of HA per 0.5 mL dose. These vaccines are generally produced using egg-based or cell-based manufacturing technologies and are administered via intramuscular injection. They are indicated for the prevention of influenza-related illness in individuals across a wide age range, typically starting from 6 months of age, although specific age indications vary by brand.
