Overview
standardized cannabis sativa thc extract (VER-01, brand name Exilby) is a first-in-class, pharmaceutical-grade, standardized full-spectrum botanical extract derived from a proprietary Cannabis sativa strain (DKJ127 L). Developed by Vertanical, it contains a defined mixture of cannabinoids (primarily tetrahydrocannabinol [THC] and cannabigerol [CBG]) and terpenes (such as β-caryophyllene and α-bisabolol) designed to act synergistically via the 'entourage effect' to modulate pain pathways. VER-01 acts as an agonist at cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2. It is approved in Germany and Austria for the treatment of chronic low back pain with a radicular (neuropathic) component, and is undergoing Phase 3 development in the United States. Clinical trials have demonstrated that VER-01 provides superior pain relief and improved gastrointestinal tolerability compared to conventional opioids, with no evidence of dependence or withdrawal.
