Overview

Stapholyse is an engineered bacteriolytic enzyme developed by ZymIQ Biopharma for the treatment of antimicrobial-resistant (AMR) *Staphylococcus* infections, including Methicillin-resistant *Staphylococcus aureus* (MRSA). As an engineered enzyme-based therapeutic, it is designed to target and rapidly lyse the bacterial cell wall of *Staphylococcus* species, offering a potential alternative or adjunct to traditional antibiotics. The drug is being developed for both human and veterinary applications and is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
