Overview

This combination consists of **stapuldencel** (an autologous dendritic cell vaccine, also known as DCVAC/PCa or stapuldencel-T), **docetaxel** (a taxane-class chemotherapeutic agent), and **prednisone** (a synthetic corticosteroid). Stapuldencel is an active cellular immunotherapy using autologous dendritic cells to stimulate the immune system against prostate cancer. Docetaxel inhibits cell division by stabilizing microtubules, leading to apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. Prednisone is used to help manage inflammation and reduce some of the side effects of chemotherapy while potentially enhancing the effectiveness of docetaxel. This combination has been investigated primarily for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer, with stapuldencel providing immunostimulatory effects alongside cytotoxic chemotherapy and supportive corticosteroid therapy[1][4][6][7].
