Overview

Star anise oil (八角茴香油) is a natural herbal essential oil extract derived from star anise (*Illicium verum*). Developed by Shaanxi Fujie Pharmaceutical, it is utilized as an aromatic flavoring agent and a therapeutic treatment for skin fungal infections and cutaneous *Candida* infections. The oil exhibits significant antifungal activity, particularly against dermatophytes (skin fungi) and pathogenic *Candida* species, which is primarily attributed to its active component, anethole. In China, it is registered under the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) extract filing number ZTCB20210021陕.
