Overview

STAR-LLD-OBDS is a proprietary formulation of lenalidomide developed by Starton Therapeutics for continuous subcutaneous delivery using an on-body injector device. Unlike standard oral lenalidomide (Revlimid), which is associated with high peak plasma concentrations and significant hematologic toxicity, STAR-LLD delivers low-dose lenalidomide continuously through the skin via a wearable device. This approach maintains consistent drug exposure, reduces peak-related side effects, and has demonstrated improved tolerability and efficacy in preclinical models and early clinical trials for multiple myeloma (MM) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). The technology aims to expand the use of lenalidomide in hematologic malignancies by offering better quality of life, fewer adverse events such as neutropenia, and potentially overcoming resistance mechanisms seen with pulsatile dosing[1][2][3][4][5][7][10].
