Drug intelligence / Profile preview
STAT3-IN-1 (compound 7d) is a selective, orally active small molecule inhibitor of Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3 (STAT3). It exhibits potent inhibitory activity against STAT3 with IC50 values of 1.82 μM in HT29 colorectal cancer cells and 2.14 μM in MDA-MB 231 breast cancer cells. The compound works by inducing apoptosis in tumor cells and suppressing STAT3-mediated signaling pathways. It is primarily used as a research tool to investigate the role of STAT3 in cancer progression, chemoresistance, and immune modulation, particularly in melanoma and other solid tumors. It is currently not approved for clinical use and is distributed by chemical suppliers for laboratory research purposes.
