Overview

STAT5b shRNA is a research-grade gene-silencing tool designed to knock down the expression of the Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 5b (STAT5b) gene. STAT5b is a transcription factor implicated in cancer cell proliferation, chemoresistance, and invasion, particularly in pancreatic cancer and glioblastoma. By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, this short hairpin RNA (shRNA) construct, typically delivered via lentiviral or plasmid vectors, reduces STAT5b protein levels. In preclinical studies, suppression of STAT5b has been shown to inhibit tumor growth, impair cancer cell motility, and sensitize cells to chemotherapeutic agents like gemcitabine. It is primarily used as a laboratory tool to validate STAT5b as a therapeutic target and is commercially available for non-commercial research use.
