Overview

STAV-1 is a nucleic acid-based STING (Stimulator of Interferon Genes) activator developed by StingInn, LLC for the treatment of leukemia and solid tumors. The therapy utilizes a novel cell-based delivery approach where autologous tumor cells are loaded with DNase-resistant nucleic acid-based STING activators (STAVs), irradiated to prevent further growth, and reinfused into the patient. Once reinfused, these irradiated cells are phagocytosed by antigen-presenting cells (APCs), such as dendritic cells. The STAVs then activate the STING signaling pathway within the APCs, which triggers the production of Type I interferons and primes a potent T-cell response against tumor antigens. STAV-1 has received FDA clearance to initiate Phase 1 clinical trials for relapsed/refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML), acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), and HTLV-1 associated adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL).
