Drug intelligence / Profile preview
StayBred is a veterinary biologic developed by AspenBio Pharma, Inc. (now Venaxis) that consists of a recombinant single-chain luteinizing hormone (LH) analog. Designed specifically for use in dairy cows, the drug aims to improve reproductive efficiency by assisting in pregnancy maintenance. By mimicking the biological activity of natural luteinizing hormone, StayBred supports the corpus luteum and progesterone production, which are essential for sustaining a successful pregnancy. The product was developed to increase milk production and reduce the economic costs associated with reproductive failure in bovine species. AspenBio Pharma filed an Investigational New Animal Drug Application (INADA) for StayBred with the FDA in 2007.
