Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Steatoz-E is a nutraceutical combination product developed by Enactis Healthcare, specifically designed for the management of liver health and hepatic steatosis (fatty liver). It contains a high-concentration blend of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, including 540 mg of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and 380 mg of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), along with Vitamin E. The mechanism of action involves the activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs), which enhances fatty acid oxidation and reduces hepatic lipogenesis, thereby decreasing triglyceride accumulation in the liver. Vitamin E provides additional therapeutic benefit through its antioxidant properties, protecting hepatocytes from oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation. It is administered orally as softgel capsules and is positioned within Enactis Healthcare's hepatology portfolio.
