Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Stela is a self-cured (chemically-cured), bulk-fill flowable resin composite system designed for dental restorations, including Class I, II, III, and V cavities. Developed by SDI in partnership with several Australian universities, the system consists of a two-component application: Stela Primer and Stela composite. The Stela Primer contains a catalyst and the 10-MDP monomer, which facilitates strong chemical adhesion to the tooth's hydroxyapatite. Upon contact between the primer and the composite, a chemical polymerization reaction is triggered at the tooth-restoration interface, ensuring an "unlimited" depth of cure and eliminating the need for traditional light-curing steps. The material is BPA- and HEMA-free and contains fluoride, calcium, and strontium to support tooth health and bioactivity.
