Overview

Stemchymal is an allogeneic adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy developed by Steminent Biotherapeutics. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, specifically spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA), and acute liver conditions. The therapy leverages the immunomodulatory and regenerative properties of MSCs to reduce neuroinflammation and promote tissue repair. In Japan, ReproCELL has licensed the exclusive rights to develop and commercialize Stemchymal for SCA, aiming to utilize the country's accelerated regulatory pathway for regenerative medicine products. The therapy is administered via intravenous infusion and has been evaluated in Phase II trials for polyglutamine (PolyQ) SCA and Phase I trials for acute liver failure.
