Overview

Stemis is an allogeneic umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cell (UC-MSC) therapy developed by Ji Yan Biomedical Co., Ltd. for the treatment of frailty syndrome in the elderly. The therapy is designed to address the physiological decline and chronic systemic inflammation, often termed 'inflammaging,' that characterizes frailty in adults aged 60 to 85. By leveraging the immunomodulatory and regenerative properties of mesenchymal stem cells, Stemis aims to restore tissue homeostasis and improve physical resilience. The cells are administered via intravenous infusion, where they are expected to exert paracrine effects by secreting a variety of anti-inflammatory cytokines and growth factors that promote cellular repair and reduce age-related inflammatory markers.
