Overview

StemRegenin 1 (SR1) is a selective, cell-permeable, small molecule antagonist of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR). It potently promotes the ex vivo expansion and self-renewal of human hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells, particularly CD34+ cells from peripheral and cord blood. SR1 increases the number of CD34+ cells up to 330-fold and enhances engraftment efficiency, supporting faster neutrophil and platelet recovery after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Its primary investigated application is in stem cell expansion for transplantation and regenerative therapies[1][2][3][4][5][7][9].
