StemVacs is a cancer vaccine platform designed as an immunotherapy targeting cancer stem cells. It is primarily composed of either lab-grown dendritic cells or a DNA plasmid encoding Th1-selective epitopes from five antigens associated with cancer stem cells (MDM2, YB1, SOX2, CDH3, CD105). The vaccine aims to stimulate the immune system—particularly T-cell responses—to recognize and attack tumor-initiating cells that are believed to drive tumor growth and recurrence. Different formulations have been developed for various solid tumors including breast cancer (triple negative and hormone receptor positive), non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), glioma, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, and others. Administration routes include subcutaneous or intradermal injection. Clinical trials have shown safety in early-phase studies with evidence of immune activation and some cases of tumor stabilization[4][5][6][7][8][9][10].
