Overview

STI-9199 (also known as COVISHIELD) is an investigational intranasal neutralizing antibody therapy developed for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. It is designed to be administered via nasal drops and has demonstrated in vitro and in vivo activity against all tested SARS-CoV-2 variants, including Omicron subvariants BA.1, BA.1+R346K, and BA.2. The drug is a biological product intended to provide passive immunization by directly neutralizing the virus at the site of entry in the upper respiratory tract[2][3][4]. Clinical trials have focused on its use for mild to moderate COVID-19 in outpatient adults and adolescents[5].
