**STI-mRNA** is an investigational **mRNA-based SARS-CoV-2 vaccine candidate** developed by **Sorrento Therapeutics**. Publicly available company materials and a related preclinical bioRxiv report indicate that the program used **designer spike-encoding mRNA** formulated in **lipid nanoparticles** to express SARS-CoV-2 spike antigen in host cells and induce both **neutralizing antibody** and **T-cell immune responses**. The preclinical program appears to have been positioned for COVID-19 prevention, including activity against the ancestral WA-1 strain and multiple variants of concern, and was also studied with Sorrento's **MuVaxx** lymphatic delivery device as a delivery approach intended to enhance immune responses at lower dose. Available evidence supports that this was a **preclinical vaccine program** rather than a marketed product, and the naming in public disclosures overlaps with the more specific formulation code **STI-7264**.
