Overview

STIA-1015 is an investigational small molecule therapeutic candidate developed by Staidson (Beijing) Biopharmaceutical that targets the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E-binding protein 1 (4EBP1). 4EBP1 is a critical regulator of protein synthesis and a key downstream effector of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway, which is frequently hyperactivated in various malignancies. In its unphosphorylated state, 4EBP1 binds to eIF4E to inhibit the initiation of translation; however, oncogenic signaling often leads to 4EBP1 phosphorylation and inactivation, promoting the translation of proteins required for tumor growth and survival. STIA-1015 is designed to modulate this pathway to suppress oncogenic protein synthesis. The drug is currently in early-stage development, primarily targeting solid tumors.
