Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Stibium D6 is an anthroposophic medicinal preparation containing antimony (stibium) at a D6 homeopathic dilution. Manufactured by Weleda, it is primarily used to support hemostasis and control hemorrhage, particularly in contexts of diffuse mucosal bleeding or bleeding from tumors. In anthroposophic medicine, stibium is thought to provide a 'forming' quality that aids blood coagulation. It has been evaluated in clinical trials, such as a randomized, placebo-controlled study at the University Clinic of Urology in Switzerland, to determine its efficacy in reducing intraoperative bleeding during transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) for benign prostatic hyperplasia.
