Overview
Stifen-MYO is an oral fixed-dose combination tablet developed by Med Manor Organics for the treatment of painful muscle spasms associated with acute musculoskeletal and joint conditions, such as spondylitis, low back pain, and neck and shoulder pain. The formulation typically combines the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) aceclofenac, the analgesic paracetamol (acetaminophen), and the centrally acting muscle relaxant thiocolchicoside. Aceclofenac and paracetamol work synergistically to reduce pain and inflammation by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes and reducing prostaglandin synthesis. Thiocolchicoside acts as a competitive antagonist at gamma-aminobutyric acid type A (GABA-A) and glycine receptors in the central nervous system, effectively relieving muscle stiffness and spasms to improve physical mobility.
