Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Stifen-P is an oral fixed-dose combination tablet containing the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) aceclofenac and the analgesic/antipyretic paracetamol (acetaminophen). Developed and marketed by Med Manor Organics, it is indicated for the short-term relief of mild-to-moderate pain, inflammation, and fever. It is commonly prescribed for musculoskeletal pain, joint pain, and inflammatory conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Aceclofenac works by preferentially inhibiting the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, thereby blocking the synthesis of inflammatory prostaglandins. Paracetamol acts primarily on the central nervous system to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis and modulate endogenous pain pathways, raising the pain threshold and reducing fever. Together, these components provide synergistic analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects.
