Stivant

Stivant is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody of bevacizumab, developed by the Iranian biopharmaceutical company AryoGen Pharmed. As a vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) inhibitor, Stivant works by binding to VEGF-A, a protein that stimulates the growth of new blood vessels (angiogenesis). By neutralizing VEGF-A, the drug prevents its interaction with receptors (Flt-1 and KDR) on the surface of endothelial cells, thereby inhibiting the proliferation of these cells and the formation of the blood supply required for tumor growth and metastasis. It is primarily developed for the treatment of various malignancies including metastatic colorectal cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, and other solid tumors where VEGF plays a critical role in disease progression.
