Overview

STLA101 (also known as STP1) is a precision medicine combination therapy being developed by STALICLA for the treatment of a specific subgroup of patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), identified as ASD-Phenotype 1 (ASD-P1). The therapy consists of two repurposed small molecules: ibudilast, a phosphodiesterase (PDE4 and PDE10) inhibitor and toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) antagonist, and bumetanide, a selective NKCC1 inhibitor. This combination is designed to address the underlying molecular pathophysiology of ASD-P1, which involves dysregulation in neuroinflammation and GABAergic signaling. By modulating these pathways, STLA101 aims to improve core and associated symptoms of ASD in patients who exhibit a specific biological signature identified through STALICLA's proprietary DEPI platform. The drug is currently in Phase 2 clinical development.
