Overview

STM-416p is an intraoperative immunotherapy being developed by SURGE Therapeutics for prostate cancer patients undergoing radical prostatectomy. It utilizes SURGE's injectable biodegradable hydrogel technology to enable extended, localized release of resiquimod (an imidazoquinolinamine that targets TLR7 and TLR8) directly at the site of surgical tumor resection. This approach aims to reprogram the body's response to surgery from immunosuppressive to immunostimulatory, triggering the patient's immune system to destroy residual cancer cells and prevent recurrence.
