Stomatovis

**Stomatovis** is a D.M.G. Italia oral mucosal-protection medical device supplied as a mouthwash/gargle. It is intended to prevent and treat symptoms associated with stomatitis and gingivitis of different origins and to lubricate and hydrate the oral mucosa. Its formulation includes mucosal-protective and film-forming components such as marshmallow mucilage, dipotassium glycyrrhizinate, carboxymethyl beta-glucan, phosphoglucan, PVM/MA copolymer, xylitol, glycerol, and sodium bicarbonate. It does not have a single defined pharmacologic active ingredient or molecular target; its intended effect is primarily local physical mucosal protection, lubrication, and hydration. In a randomized controlled study in adults undergoing elective genitourinary surgery with orotracheal intubation, Stomatovis gargle showed a modest but non-statistically-significant reduction in postoperative sore throat relative to control.
