Stonark

Stonark is an oral tablet formulation of minoxidil developed and marketed by Intra Life (India) for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia (pattern hair loss). Minoxidil acts as a potent vasodilator by opening ATP-sensitive potassium (KATP) channels in vascular smooth muscle cells. This mechanism leads to membrane hyperpolarization and muscle relaxation, which enhances blood flow to the scalp and hair follicles. In the context of hair regrowth, oral minoxidil is believed to prolong the anagen (growth) phase of the hair cycle, increase hair follicle size, and revitalize dormant follicles, thereby improving hair density and thickness. While minoxidil was originally developed as an antihypertensive agent, low-dose oral formulations like Stonark are increasingly utilized as a systemic alternative or adjunct to topical treatments for hair loss.
