STP779 is an investigational RNA interference (RNAi) therapeutic developed by Sirnaomics, designed to treat chronic liver diseases such as liver fibrosis, primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), and primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). It utilizes the proprietary GalAhead™ delivery platform, which features GalNAc (N-acetylgalactosamine) conjugation for targeted delivery to hepatocytes via the asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGPR). STP779 is a dual-targeting siRNA that simultaneously silences the expression of Transforming Growth Factor beta 1 (TGF-β1) and Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) mRNA. By inhibiting these two key drivers of inflammation and fibrogenesis, the drug aims to reduce collagen deposition and liver damage. The GalAhead™ platform incorporates mxRNA (miniaturized RNAi) technology, allowing for a potent and stable therapeutic effect with a favorable safety profile suitable for subcutaneous administration.
